“ Was so surprised on how good this place is! We just never heard of it before. The rib eye steak was juicy and so flavorful. Good pricing too! We will be back to try the papa and mama burger! ”

“ This was the second time I have eaten here the first time I got their steak. This time we got the burgers and mozzarella sticks. The food was fantastic. The flavor of the seasoning and the way they smoke their meat packs it full of flavor. They have free chips and salsa when you dine in. The service was fast and friendly. “ Definitely check out The Grill on San Mateo. I just can't say enough about it..My hubby really wanted some of their fried mushrooms we had seen in a review. They didn't disappoint, and neither did the rest of the food. We followed the stars, once we figured it out, to order at the counter. After ordering we went to get our drinks and were told we could pick up chips and salsa, before sitting down, so we did. The mushrooms we're brought out to us at our table and were absolutely amazing. We had to go to the counter to pick up our burgers, and prepare them as we liked at the fixing station. Burgers were sure tasty, as were the fries. The cooking is done over a large charcoal grill. Can't beat that flavor. I actually got to go back and see the grill where they cooked. The place was busy. Everyone was so happy and helpful. Seemed like just good down to earth people. It was great to see. I missed the guys posing when I took the pictures. They definitely have two new customers. We want to try a steak next time. We could smell them cooking when we were there and they looked wonderful. Oh, and on a Wednesday night, there was live music. Wish we had had more time to enjoy it. Next time. Also I added some pics of the bathroom. So clean!!! ”

“ At first glance, you would think it was not a place to order a steak, but I can tell you that it was juicy, tender, and it was well done like I like. I was shocked! Usually, well done is dry and hard. You order at counter but staff couldn't be friendlier. The food tasted like home. We haven't had a meal this good in a while. Don't let the location (strip mall) fool you, it was worth it. If I had to say one thing I didn't like, the soda was a little flat but still "fizzy", so that is a stretch. Good for kids and adults! ”

“ I had the ribeye steak. My friend had the burger. Everything was delicious. The service was first class. Loved the free chips. We were well taken care of. It appears that this restaurant also supports various local organizations. I can’t recommend this restaurant and its people enough. ”

I love the toppings bar, and the FRESH chips & salsa, yummy!! So so good! Honest prices, smiling staff and kitschy vibes abound in this slice of Americana. As you enter, the crew shouts a hearty “welcome” and from that moment you know it’s going to be a good experience! Families, friends and burquenos of every type are eating here which indicates food that satisfies everyone, and let’s be honest... a cheeseburger from The Grill slaps like no other! Pay attention Blake’s and Laguna Burger...you could learn from this haymaker of hamburgers! Friends please support this gem, it would be truly tragic to lose The Grill! ”

“ Stopped by last minute while passing through. Man at the register was super friendly and helpful. We both ended up with burgers. I had the vegi and she had the mamma. Excellent. There was a band playing this Saturday night and seemed to a regular thing. Lots of fun. Family oriented but there were some larger groups of men making good use of the steaks. Highly recommend. Looking forward to stopping again with my husband next time. ”

“ This place has really good hamburgers. You can have them cooked to order but you must request it. Otherwise they cook them. Well done. I had the the 8 oz. "Papa" with green chili and pepper jack cheese. You can choose your toppings. They also have a toppings bar that has lettuce, tomatoes, pickles jalapenos etc. They also have complimentary chips and salsa at the toppings bar. The salsa is pretty good. They serve Coke products plus freshly brewed iced tea. The owner is super nice and even gave us a tour of the facility while we were there. They also serve a 16 oz ribeye and they have chicken, breast and other chicken products as well as the hamburgers and hot dogs. I definitely recommend the hamburger. The meat is fresh and they grill it right in front of you. There's a ton of memorabilia on the walls and on the roof and just about everywhere. It's quite amazing. The inside of the restaurant is actually quite large. It's very deceiving looking at it from the outside. Definitely room for large parties. They even had in live music there while we were there. ”
